This inner cloth was woven with some synthetic materials. Most of these textiles are naturally dyed, and woven with handspun alpaca or baby alpaca wool. Girls learn to weave in their early teens, and there are very high levels of weaving, spinning, and knitting skills passed down through the generations.

Traditional Mesa Cloths are woven by Benita Apaza (Pampamesayoq Don Agustin’s wife). This inner mesa cloth is woven with some synthetic materials.

Contemporary Mesa Cloths are woven by Remigia (Don Santos’s wife), and other items are woven by Remigia, Sebastiana, and Rosa in Q’eros, Peru. Each Mesa cloth takes over a month to weave.
