Sacred Space Meditation

Sacred Space Meditation.

In my previous blog posts, I have talked about opening sacred space and various shamanic techniques we can use to stay sane in today’s world.

Creating a safe space or a powerful place in your imagination is so useful if you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious or fearful.

Here, I am going to share a few different techniques that you can use when your wirracocha or sacred space is open. If you would like to know how to open sacred space or your wirracocha, please see my previous posts.

Here is a simple meditation/visualisation that you can do in five to ten minutes.

Sacred Space Meditation

  • Open Sacred Space
  • Open your Wirracocha
  • Perform the Sacred Exchange Exercise if you are feeling really heavy.
  • Close your eyes, take some nice deep breaths, and come into your centre.
  • Let anything that is stopping you from being present just fall away into the earth, through your feet or your tailbone.
  • At this point, you can also call in any spirit guides, light beings, or helpers you feel you may need at this time. You can also call in any ancestors you’re in the process of honouring and/or a power animal.
  • Take a journey to a special place in nature that you may have loved as a child, or go to a place you know now.
  • In this place, there will be somewhere that you can sit comfortably. It may be a glade of trees or a secret waterfall in the forest. There could be a gently flickering fire in the centre of this space or a small stream.
  • Take your time to get to know this place and as you visit regularly it will build up positive energy for you. See if you can create a natural virtual altar here, something that you can use to put special objects that you find around here.
  • All kinds of shamanic work can be done here. There could also be a place where you can enter the earth, like a hollow tree trunk or a cave. In this way, you are able to access the middle world, upper world, and lower world.
  • In this special safe place, you are able to speak with your guides, your higher self, your shadow self, your inner child and deal with whatever is needed in order to come back into balance.

The Archetypes

Another meditation or visualisation is to connect with your archetypes. It’s never too early to start working with the archetypes. The Q’ero have told us that there are four main different animal archetypes. In this tradition, we have the archetype of Serpent, Jaguar, and eagle. Quetzalcoatl (The Feathered Serpent) helps us to organise our middle world without us trying too hard and Pachacouti Inca is in our crown chakra, helping us to connect with source.

In the meantime, enjoy your time to meditate!. We hear the best medicine for ourselves when we are peaceful.
